La Leyenda de Los Tres Gallinazos (The Legend of the Three Chicken Slaps)

Legend has it that one day my Abuelita Chave was shopping at a tianguis when another woman yelled some bullshit at her. My abuela, having just purchased a dead chicken that she was planning on taking home to cook for dinner, proceeded to take said chicken out of her shopping bag and use it to slap the other woman 3 times.

I LOVE this story. Kind of making fun of my grandma but also kind of seriously, we had a rubber chicken in the house growing up. When anyone acted out, we would get threatened with tres gallinazos of our own. I don’t believe any of us ever actually got hit with the rubber chicken... the threat was enough.
